We’ve just about caught our breath following another excellent CASCADE conference. This year’s event was the biggest yet. More than 500 customers, partners, future customers and industry analysts joined us for three packed days at the fantastic Beverly Hilton hotel.
This year’s theme was “Become Future-Ready with Chrome River.” We’re now in an era where business travellers expect seamless, mobile-centric travel and expense solutions. Expense administrators rely on powerful automation capabilities to streamline their daily lives, and finance leaders need to make smarter, faster, data-driven decisions. At CASCADE 2019 we demonstrated that Chrome River is delivering on that promise.
I’ve been to many customer conferences, but this was my first CASCADE. And even though many people told me beforehand about the deep relationships we have with our thousand-plus customers around the world, I was taken aback by the energy and excitement I witnessed. We have a remarkable group of loyal and highly-engaged customers from some of the world’s largest and most respected organisations. To directly hear how Chrome River lets business flow for them reminds me how much our solutions impact their daily lives.
Customers tell me that CASCADE helps them gain the insight and ability to optimise their expense and invoice management solutions. Whether participating in one of the industry-specific special interest groups, attending a workshop from our product experts, watching one of the panel discussions on the main stage, or simply networking with other Chrome River customers at evening events, there are many opportunities to learn new tips and tricks. It was exciting to see customers learn new ways to get the most out of Chrome River.
I also got a kick out of customer reactions to the new initiatives and capabilities that were unveiled. We shared new capabilities that streamline the expense process for business travellers, and enable finance leaders to maximise expense and invoice policy compliance, and unveiled changes to our professional services engagement. We look forward to formally announcing these in the near future. CASCADE is the place where you can hear about new capabilities first!
I also want to offer my personal thanks to our sponsor and exhibitor partners. Having a strong partner ecosystem is absolutely critical for us to be able to deliver the services and solutions that our customers trust and rely upon every day. Many thanks to you!
Finally, I’d like to thank all of our customers from around the world who joined us at CASCADE. We enjoyed your stories, and very much appreciated your feedback on the new capabilities that you’d like to see! Throughout its 12-year history, Chrome River’s rapid growth has been fuelled by our leadership in innovation. Your continued input and new ideas are the reason we can maintain our innovative edge.
We look forward to sharing information about CASCADE 2020 with you as soon as possible, so stay tuned. The best is yet to come!

Our choice of Chrome River EXPENSE was made in part due to the very user-friendly interface, easy configurability, and the clear commitment to impactful customer service – all aspects in which Chrome River was the clear winner. While Chrome River is not as large as some of the other vendors we considered, we found that to be a benefit and our due diligence showed that it could support us as well as any large players in the space, along with a personalized level of customer care.
We are excited to be able to enforce much more stringent compliance to our expense guidelines and significantly enhance our expense reporting and analytics. By automating these processes, we will be able to free up AP time formerly spent on manual administrative tasks, and enhance the role by being much more strategic.
